TSMAC University is a group of courses for high school students to help them grow and be better equipped in their faith. Each Wednesday night during the summer we’ll meet for the course in the Service Station and then head together as a group for some Ultimate frisbee, Connie’s Custard, Starbucks, to a house for movie night, etc. The course descriptions for Summer 2009 are below:

“American Idols”: In Exodus 20:3, God tells us that we should have no other gods before Him. However, we are a people that put countless things before God and therefore make for ourselves countless idols. So, waht are these idols? How do we recognize them? What do we do once we’ve realized the idols that are keeping us from the one true God? That’s what we’ll be discussing and journeying through “American Idols”.

“Why So Many Gods?”: Ever wondered what the difference between Christianity and other religions was? What about so-called Christian organizations that look ok, but still seem iffy? This course will help you with a basic understanding of cults and world religions and what sets apart Christianity in it’s truth claims. We’ll also help you develop a handy-dandy notebook you can use for future reference.

You can register for the courses by grabbing a registration form (unfortunately we are not able to offer online registration) from the Service Station or TSMAC Alcove in the WLC and turning it in to any of our toolboxes on campus. If you don’t get registered before the 10th, you can also come that night and choose your course. Courses meet from 6:30 - 8 pm and stick around because we’ll always do something fun together ad a group afterwards!
